Recording comments: This recording is complete with the exception of the applause after You Lied, a bit of the noise intro of Giftland and also circa. 55 sec of the applause before the first encore (Phaseout), due to md change.
The sound quality changes slightly during the second disc. More compression occurs, which makes it sound less dynamic and even causes one or two tiny dropouts (in Into The Sun & Phaseout). This seems to be the result of the louder volume in the hall during this part of the show in combination with the limitations of recording with md (heavy compression of the audio data). I miss the dat recorder...
Performance comments: A bit of a debate followed this show, dividing people into two camps: Some people felt Groningen 11.04.02 was the best, while others were in no doubt about Amsterdam being the best concert of the tour (and thus of the last couple of years). I had a hard time deciding, but in retrospect I still hold Groningen on top. I liked that setlist better. That said, Amsterdam was a stormer of a show, the mood was electric, and especially the second half took off.
Highlights: The Hogwash/Into The Sun/I Believe combo almost tore the place down. 577 and Psychonaut were far out and loooong. I like that.
