Comments: Ahhhh! I've just listened through my recording of Hamar (which was the first show of the European leg of the It's A Love Cult tour). What a blast! I think they've retained the powerful rock attitude from the US shows. And it's sooooo nice to have Custer, Bubbles, California, Serpentine and Nothing To Say without the horns!

Close Your Eyes and Painting The Night Unreal were on the setlist as the first encores, but were not played, leaving Nothing To Say as the only encore.

Thinking of this as the first gig of the new tour, it's much better than the start of both the Cake-tour and the Phanero-tour.

Highlights: Dora Peach is a new and different take on "The New Jazzy Instrumental" from the fall tour of 2001. The melody is the same, but the tune is heavily rearranged, rocking big time, here being a great guitar/organ workout.

STG, although rather short compared to the monster it would later grow to be on this tour, is noisy and powerful, and floats beautifully into a lovely, slightly rearranged, Stained Glass.

My Best Friend has a good intro, and a rocking middle part.

Go To California rocks!

I Believe is slower, sleazier and heavier than ever before.

The brilliant Tristano is nicely edited together, taking 22 seconds I lost during a change of discs from another source. Tristano once again surprises me with it's fantastic spaceout in the first half. Bård is God.
