Carthaginian Campanians and other Italians

Italian mercenaries were used in small numbers in early armies, the Campanian cavalry deserves special mention.

Though the mass defection of Italian cities that Hannibal planned for never really occured, comparatively large numbers of Italians fought for him, and Italian cities to some extent furnished whole armies fighting for Carthage. The infantry is mostly classed as Sp(I) or Ax(O).
