January 29 - February 1: Attending a symposium at the Hesssische Stiftung für Frieden und Konfliktforschung                    in honour of Prof.Lothar Brock and his 70ieth birthday

February : 9 - 11: Steering committee meeting in LOITASA, Cape Town
February :12 - 14:  Course in academic writing for junior staff at UWC, Cape Town
February: 16 - March 31:  Teach Advanced course in Education and Development at the UiO

March 16:     Booklaunch of Languages and Education in Africa at the Faculty of Humanities, UiO
March 21 -24 - Editorial Board meeting of IRE in Hamburg 
March 24 - 29 - CIES conference in Charleston, South Carolina. Theme: The politics of comparison

April 1- 30: Work at  UIL in Hamburg, stay at the Gästehaus der Universität Hamburg
April 15 - 18: Back in Norway to attend a NUFU project leader conference

May  2 - 8:    LOITASA workshop in Cape Town
May 25 -29 : Holiday trip to southern France with two students and girl-friends

June 20:      Wedding of grandson Jonas and his fiancé Tonje

July:           Visits by friends and family. June-July-August will be spent at home entertaining family and                             friends


August:  29-30:      Meeting my students from 1961-63 at Tynset secondary school

August 31 - Sept 6:   Editing in Gordon's Bay, South Africa
September    7 -10:    Staying with Solveig in Gordon's Bay

September 14 -  18 :   The Oxford conference on Education and Development in New College.

September 26 - Oct. 2:  Holiday trip to southern France - Tues entre vaills with two girl-friends


October 9 -14:  Visit to my daughter Siri who works in Tblisi in Georgia
October 19 -21: Launch of the book "Languages and Education in Africa" at the University of Bristol, UK
October 30 - Nov 6: SACHES conference in Stellenbosch - giving key-note lecture:

November 9  - Dec 12: Field-work in the LOITASA project in Tanzania, working in Dar, Morogoro and Zanzibar
