Resume

I am a postdoc researcher in the Networks and Distributed systems group at IFI (CS research lab of the University of Oslo).

I am working with Frank Eliassen and Romain Rouvoy on Self-Adapting Applications for Mobile Users in Ubiquitous Computing Environments in the context of the IST MUSIC project.

I am interested by the topics related to the adaptation planning.

My research interests are:
- Component-Based Software Engineering,
- Aspect Oriented Programming,
- Planning,
- Structural and behavioral composition.

My application domains are:
- Autonomic Computing,
- Ubiquitous Computing.

Research

My previous postdoc was in the CS research lab at INT (National Institute of Telecommunications at Evry (France)).
I was working with Djamel Belaid and Guy Bernard on Service Continuity in Mobile Environments in the ITEA SUMO project.
I have proposed a new planning approach of components configuration based on constraint programming for seamless service continuity.

My PhD thesis was done at France Telecom R&D (Orange labs) under the supervision of Michel Riveill (Rainbow team).
Its title is "Behavioral Composition of Components".
It proposes an original approach to improve actual composition techniques (CBSE, AOP, OOP, reflexion, etc) used in building adaptative middleware. This approach defines an automata model that describes the behavior of components and the synchronization between the operations of components.
The implementation of this approach is an extension of the Fractal framework to support the description and the composition of automata. It generates a runtime environment based on Esterel, which is a synchronous reactive language.
This approach brings some efficient elements to help compose non orthogonal aspects (a still open issue in AOP).
