LECTURES ON EAST ASIAN BUDDHISM AND ZEN

Oslo University, August 25th - 27th 2008

In connection with the conference on Zen Buddhism in Rosendal the Department of Culture Studies and Oriental Languages (IKOS) will arrange a series of lectures on East Asian Buddhism with special focus on Zen Buddhism. The lectures will be held by residential scholars and international scholars attending the conference. This is a tentative list of lectures.Note that topics / time can be subject to change. The place for the lectures will be announced soon. Each lecture will last for ca. one hour plus ca. 20 min. of discussion time.
Abstracts of the lectures will eventually be uploaded.

All lectures are open to the public and aim at a general audience. We ask participants from outside the Univ. of Oslo to kindly send an e-mail to
zenconference@yahoo.com and indicate which of the lectures you are planning to attend (indicated by the letter preceding the lecture title). This will help us to determine the appropriate room-size and other organizational questions.
