Writing a dissertation at UCSD using LaTeX

While writing my dissertation at Scripps Institution of Oceanography at UCSD I struggled with proper formatting, as I am sure everyone does. I grew to love the power of LaTeX, and I decided to try and make it easier for all those students who come after me. I put together a shell of a sample dissertation that should make it easier for one to write their dissertation. Its based on an unofficial OGSR style file I hacked into a class file. I can't guarantee that it will work for you and I make no claims that OGSR will accept it with the formatting as is. I do know that as of 2006, it was working. You can download the files below in both a zip archive and a tarball.
