Research groups:  Digital Signal Processing and Image Analysis

Ultrasound laboratory

The ultrasound laboratory consists of a dedicated System FiVe digital ultrasound scanner connected to the Department network. It has a number of probes, including an advanced 2D array with 50 by 50 elements produced by Thales Microsonics, France.

There is also a set of phantom targets and a temperature-controlled waterbath for data acquisition under controlled environmental conditions.

The lab is used for data acquisition for our studies in beam forming and signal processing of ultrasound signals in the Digital Signal Processing and Image Analysis Group.

The lab has been sponsored by GE Vingmed Ultrasound, Horten, Norway, the cardiology ultrasound center of GE Medical Systems.
