Since January 1st 2006 our group has been a part of Centre for Imaging.
In signal processing we focus on theory and applications of signals from sensor arrays. Applications are in medical ultrasound, sonar and acoustic localization. We cooperate with a cluster of Norwegian companies within acoustics, sonar and ultrasound technology, some of which are start-ups and some which are world leaders in their areas.
The work within image analysis is focused on two applications: Medical image analysis and earth observation. We have a close cooperation with the Norwegian Radium Hospital on analysis of cell nuclei images in digital pathology, aimed at early diagnosis and prognosis for cancer patients. A new application area is analysis of images from satellite and airborne sensors for environmental monitoring of large areas of the earth.
