Using LiToastPhere, ShearToast and Temp_Tation we model several parameters in a deforming crust. As an illustration of this I here present a simple 3-layer lithosphere, which is thickened so that moho deepen from 40 to 80 km depth. In one model (right) I calculate frictional heating physically correctly (Shear heat = differential stress * strain rate). In the other model shear heating (left) is ignored, as is common in the literature. Notice how strength increase without shearheating and decrease with it.
