Eevi Beck

This front page and other pages in English give a general overview over what I'm doing and will be updated irregularly (with the exception of my research publications list, which I maintain in English). I maintain a more updated site in Norwegian.

My workplace since spring 2004 has been The Education Research Institute at the Faculty of Education, University of Oslo, Norway. Here I teach and conduct research related to learning, or lack of such, using information and communication technologies (ICTs), in particular with respect to ICT-related Methods in Higher Education.

My interests include:

  • marginalisation in "information society"
  • Learning Management Systems (LMSs)
  • gender, technology and teaching and learning
  • ways in which usages of icts can promote and hamper learning other places than in the classroom
  • possibilities for stimulating reflection and critical views on icts during teaching
  • power and ict in education and in society

Talks (research and otherwise).

Contact info.

From one of my heroines:

"[I]t is a rule for me not to turn a dissolving eye, not to 'deconstruct' that to which I am not also emotionally, epistemologically, and politically vulnerable."
