I am working at the Centre of Mathematics for Applications
(CMA), in quest of a PhD degree from the Department of informatics at the University of Oslo. I wrote my master's thesis at the Interventional centre at Rikshospitalet
University Hospital, with the title Real time volume
visualization for freehand 3D ultrasound.
My current research area is Geodesic Polar Coordinates on polygonal meshes, and decal texturing.
During my time as PhD student, I have also been working on
- Freehand 3D ultrasound
- Parallel programming on GPUs
- Wavelet decompositions on triangulations
You can find out more about me from the links below.
DGPC
Along with supervisor Martin Reimers, I have developed a method to compute local surface parameterizations on polygonal meshes. More information can be found on the project page.
3DUS
I have implemented an application framework in C++ for
calibration, acquisition, reconstruction and visualization of
voxel based freehand 3D ultrasound. The volume rendering is
handled by Coin3D/SimVoleon, and the user interface is written
using Qt.
3DUS calibration
I have developed a tool to facilitate the process of single fixed point calibation of a 6-DOF position sensor to an ultrasound probe.
Faber
When the amount of data in a triangulation is too large to be handled
efficiently, one often seek a simplification of the detailed data
into a less detailed triangulation. However, important details might
be lost when simplifying the fine triangulation into a coarse
triangulation. I have implemented a framework for decomposition and
reconstruction of surface triangulations using a standard Faber
decomposition approach.

Apart from programming (anything from microcontrollers to webapps),
I fly small airplanes, ride bikes, play badminton, play guitar or
accordion, knit, do ashtanga yoga, or read books. I also enjoy
learning new languages, and know some basic Russian, Korean and
Japanese by now. I think the best movie of all times is Top Gun, and
my favourite color is probably yellow.
