Minifig scale Articulated Heavy Duty Pulling Truck
Modeled after articualted trucks used to pull aircrafts at
airports.
Features
- Steering
- Articulated. Operated via yellow wheel on top.
- Locking mechanism for trailer
- There is a locking mechanism for connecting a trailer or a semi
trailer. You need a "hook" of the kind displayed below to connect to
the truck. The yellow medium pulley rests upon the truck, while the
bevel gear gets locked below the two grey small pulleys. That way, the
hook is locked in front of the bushing held between the two yellow
halfbeams you can see at the top of the vehicle. Flipping the yellow
crossblock on the side makes the two halfbeams slide backwards, thus
unlocking the trailer, and lets it slide off to the rear. The pictures
show the mechanism in the "locked" position. Here's a picture of the truck with the hook
mounted.
Instructions
Some fake pieces
Some pieces were not yet available in LDraw, so I had to make
substitutes.

(offset bushing)
- I used the wheels available to LDraw when compiling the
instructions. However, I prefer the small low profile wheels,
30.4×14VR, as found in 8213, 8216, 8225, 8485, and many other sets.

Colour
You may have a hard time finding the pieces in the colours I've
chosen. Some of the pieces may even be non-existing in the given
colours. So you need to invent your own colour scheme when building the
model. Be creative!
