- Member of the research group "Språk i kontrast" (SPRIK – Languages in Contrast. The project
focuses on corpus-based contrastive studies, using The Oslo Multilingual Corpus. It has
close ties to The English-Norwegian
Parallel Corpus, also known as the ENPC.
- Member of the ICAME board (from
2008) and of the board of the Nordic society for systemic-functional linguistics.
- Member of the editorial team of the journal Languages in Contrast, published
by Benjamins.
- Member of the editorial board of Norsk Lingvistisk
Tidsskrift.
- Member of the inter-faculty project Kunnskap i Skolen (KIS
– Knowledge in schools) and the research group Språk i Utdanning (SPRING –
Languages in education), cooperating with researchers in the faculty of
education.
- Contact person for the research group Corpus Linguistics Group at ILOS.
- Collect and compile the Norwegian component of
the VESPA
corpus with Signe Oksefjell
Ebeling.
- I was a member of a team in our department that developed a
net-based course at 'mellomfag' (second-year)
level. The homepage of this project is here (Oslo
Studies in English on the Net). The course I was
responsible for was called Corpus Linguistics; now existing in
revised form as ENG2153
English corpus linguistics, and was also in the project team for Oslo Interactive English.
- From 2003 to 2005 I chaired the board
for the study programme for language and
linguistics at the Faculty of Arts. More information here
(in Norwegian).
- Evaluated English in the Danish education system
in 2005 . Reports (in Danish) ”Engelsk
på langs i det danske uddanningssystem”
and ”Videregående engelskuddannelser
– kompetencer, undervisnings- og
eksamensformer”.
- Evaluated Riksbankens Jubileumsfonds Forskarskola i
