Ever since I got a small book on the history of aviation for Christmas
as a little boy (it was meant for my elder brother, who was considerered
more technically inclined than yours truly; the book that he ended up with
was about William the Conqueror), I have been fascinated by aircraft. After
having scrutinized my personality and concluded that I wouldn't wish to
be my own passenger in the air, I have limited myself to backseat flying.
