3.1 what is multimedia performance? Artistic context, “performance” and contemporary perspectives on multimedia performance. With the following introduction to multimedia performance, I am aiming to both contextualise Extended and prepare the grounds for the presentation of the particular issues and features of digital media that were raised and explored. I will here touch upon notions of “performance” and how multimedia performance might be said to challenge the concept “liveness” as primary value and defining feature of performance.
