3. practice
A Collaborative, Experimental Performance Production

The following chapter will present the practice of this practice-based thesis: Extended. Both the collaborative practice and the four performance-pieces are covered. The collaborative practice is presented only selectively related to central concepts of cultural historical activity theory. The conceptual apparatus of activity theory is employed here as a way to both argue, articulate and perhaps better understand the knowledge–expanding potential of practice and the driving factors of such, in collaborative processes like Extended.

The succeeding presentation of the performances stresses the particular issues and features of digital media that were raised and explored through the four distinct productions and pieces Ngirosi, In Between, Proximal, Duskalplasjon. The verbal presentation will be limited to a minimum as the web-format allows me to present the material audiovisually.

A brief introduction to multimedia performance as art form will precede the presentation of practice and pieces.
