My Master Thesis Work

Preliminary Title: Knowledge Management: An Insight into Practices within Norwegians Organizations.

Knowledge Management is relatively new field.  It was introduced to help companies create, share, and use knowledge more effectively. Knowledge management is a set of methods to simplify and improve the process of finding, sharing, distributing, creating, capturing and understanding the knowledge in an organization. My master thesis will focus to analysing different processes of KM and investigate how implementing a Knowledge Management tool impact an organization.

My goals are to investigate the following:

• Knowledge management practices in Norwegian organizations
• Look at the impact KM initiative has on a company
• Study how technology enables and set limitations int the knowledge processes

Outcome and expected outcomes:

Hopefully this work will give me an understanding of the most common pitfalls and challenges in KM. I also hope that these studies will give some hints on which knowledge management initiatives are working and how to make a KM program that makes a different and improve the organizations performance.

So far I have been in contact with both public organizations and private firms.
