Informasjonsdesign
Information design, as the group defines and uses the term, is a new
approach to information. This approach is distinguished from all
'traditional' approaches where information is created according to
hereditary rules of traditional professions and disciplines. In
information design information is designed according to explicitly
stated principles and criteria.
Until recently, the research within the group has been focused on
defining or sketching the main elements of this new approach to
information. It has resulted in Polyscopic Modelling, an initial
information design methodology, including principles, criteria,
terminology, tools, techniques and results. In addition to further
work on Polyscopic Modelling, the group is now developing practical
applications of the methodology using XML-based technologies. Example
applications include polyscopic topic maps, polyscopic book document
type and an e-business model called Authentic Norway.
