STK4030/ STK9030 Modern Data Analysis.
'Steps Towards a Unified Basis for Scientific Models and Methods'.
The book has now appeared on World Scientific, Singapore. ISBN-13-978-981-4280-85-3; ISBN-10-981-4280-85-2
My first claim is that the book raises an important question: Is it possible somehow to find an ultimate objective science concerning how to acquire information about the real world? My strong conviction is that we then have to go beyond the single scientific disciplines and think across disciplines. My second claim is that the book may offer some first steps that can be taken on the way towards such an objective science. My third claim is that this seems to give a new derivation of and interpretation of important parts of quantum mechanics. My fourth claim is that this also can lead to some renewal of aspects of statististics as a science, aspects that have relevance to applications. My fifth claim is that thinking across cultures also is extremely useful in other areas of human endeavour, even though it may be difficult.
Here is a list of the errors in the book that I know up to now.
I would be grateful of others who spot errors, send me an e-mail. I will also really appreciate any discussion contribution connected to the themes of the book and to the solutions presented there.
