Local processes with global implications." The thesis is the result of an interdisiplinary work, where I have applied physical models to geological problems. I am very happy that I have had the opportunity to understand and apply so many processes that surrounds us and governs the behaviour of the Earth and the rocks we walk on. That my results can be used to explain periods of global warming in the past is both exciting and a little scary, expecially since the numbers are comparable with our current release rate of greenhouse gases. Moreover, the previous periods of global warming also appears to be synchrounous with mass extinction events. And it was all related to periods of excessive intrusive volcanism in the Earths crust. We now understand how sill intrusions affect maturation and gas release, and we understand the pressure anomalies associated with it. It opens doors to many scientific problems, and I've barely just started.

My links:
 Webmail
Google
Blogg
Trafikanten
ISI web of science
GeoRef
