General Info

I received my Ph.D. at the Distributed Multimedia Systems Research Group in June 2011. My main research topics are data stream management systems, sensor networks, and complex event processing systems. The application domain I focus on in how to integrate these types of systems in automated home care, i.e., placing sensors in a home in order to assure that the persons that live there are safe and secure.

To address some of the many challenges and concepts in this domain, we have developed models for events, sensors, and environments. These models are implemented in our complex event processing system CommonSens. Code is available at Google code.
