Curriculum vitae

I am currently persuing my first post-doc in the Bioinformatics group headed by principal investigator Associate Professor Torbjørn Rognes at the Department of Informatics facilitated at the University of Oslo, Norway. My main project is microarray analysis with regards to cellular stress responses that results in DNA damage and triggers DNA repair. Together with Gard Thomassen and Karin Lagesen (both PhD students in Ass. Prof. Torbjørn Rognes group) I have been a part of designing novel high-density tiling arrays covering the genomes of E.coli and N.meningitidis, respectively, with regards of different cellular stress responses and these projects are in their finishing stage.

Also, I am in close collaboration with several high profiled researchers in the field of DNA repair in Oslo. Dr. Hilde Nilsen is a successful young researcher in the field of C. elegans and DNA damage response. Also, projects are driven in the species of S. pombe where tiling arrays have been used to search for intergenic transcripts after DNA damage. Here, I am working with Prof. Erik Boye and his PhD student, Cathrine Arnason Bøe.

By education, I am a chemical engineer from the Mälardalen University but I went on earning my PhD in Molecular Cell Biology from the Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm, Sweden. As a PhD student I was a member of the Unit for Molecular Cell Biology and Gene Therapy Sicience working on signal transduction and gene expression analysis in B-lymphocytes. My thesis, which I defended the fall 2005, was entitled Molecular dissection of B-lymphocyte signalling using gene expression profiling.
