Supervision of New Students

I offer supervision of master/PhD theses within the following topics for students at UiO, UiB, NTNU, or SINTEF: Heterogeneous computing of PDEs using multicore CPUs with programmable graphics cards, in particular high-performance computing using GPU-clusters. Only for students sitting at UiO or SINTEF. Multiscale methods for reservoir simulation used for direct simulation of large geocellular models or for superfast flow simulation in optimization/visualization workflows. Subtopics: open-source software, elliptic equations, parallelisation, complex grids, reordering methods, hyperbolic equations, numerical linear algebra, visualization. Simulation of CO2 deposition in subsurface reservoirs. Subtopics: parallelisation, complex grids, reordering methods, streamlines, numerical linear algebra.
