I am a Master student at the Department of Informatics, University of Oslo, and also at the Simula Research Laboratory where I am now doing my Master thesis project. My Supervisor is Prof. Hans Petter Langtangen.
Title: "A Unified Python Interface to a Variety of Software for Solving Ordinary Differential Equations"
Description: The existing software packages for solving ODE problems in Fortran and C are quite difficult to use, you need to set up a lot of data, allocate/manage memory, etc., and even very experienced programmers frequently make mistakes that takes days to resolve. With a working Python interface it's trivial to call this Fortran and C software and get the problems solved. That's why it makes sense to have a Python interface to ODE solvers in Fortran and C. Matlab already have a Python-like interface, but we want to make it better - and free!
