Welcome to my web page. I am a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the SynSem group at the University of Oslo. Until the end of February 2018 I am taking part in a project at the Centre for Advanced at the Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters, also (confusingly) called SynSem. Information about my research activities and outputs can be found here.
Workshop on approaches to coercion and polysemy
This is a workshop I'm co-organizing along with Alexandra Spalek.
- University of Oslo, Oslo, Norway
- 20–21 November 2017
- The call for papers has now closed.
The phenomenon of coercion has often been remarked on within formal semantics, pragmatics and computational linguistics, but it remains not well-understood. We wish to create a forum that will enable comparison of lexical, compositional and pragmatic approaches to coercion, and interaction between people coming from formal semantics, pragmatics and computational linguistics backgrounds. We are particularly interested in the interaction between coercion and the wider issue of polysemy, where a word may have more than one closely-related meaning.
