The International Euromicro Track on Multimedia and Telecommunications (MTT 2002) brings together academia, industry, and government, to inspire an in-depth discussion of the state-of-the-art, and its transfer into the state-of-the-market, in supporting multimedia services in telecommunication systems.

The presentations of the conference represent the state-of-the-art and the state-of-the-market. State-of-the-art presentations report original research and development, as well as ongoing work. State-of-the-market papers report experiences in the deployment and operation of systems, or present innovative plans for the commercialization of state-of-the-art systems and services. Results that present new insights, perspective, and that introduce future research challenges are of particular interest.

Please take a look at the updated programme of the track.

The discussion areas of interest include:

  • Multimedia systems:
  • Operating systems, protocols, QoS support, real-time systems, databases, servers, personal appliances

  • Multimedia processing and coding:
  • Hardware for coding and processing, compression, content analysis, content-based retrieval, audio/image/video processing, animation, virtual reality, presentation control

  • Telecommunications:
  • Issues with special emphasis on multimedia support such as: mobility, security, network management, capacity planning, architectures, middleware, services guarantees, charging and pricing, legal aspects
