Hi!

Dialogue

Welcome to my personal website. Since January 2011, I'm working as a PhD research fellow at the Department of Informatics of the University of Oslo, where I'm pursuing a PhD in Computational Linguistics under the joint supervision of Stephan Oepen, Erik Velldal and Geert-Jan M. Kruijff. Before coming to Oslo, I worked for 2 years as a researcher at the German Research Centre for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) in Saarbrücken, where I was involved in several EU-funded research projects.

My general research interest lies in the development of efficient algorithms for spoken dialogue systems. My PhD concentrates on decision-making algorithms for adaptive dialogue management in complex, open-ended interactions. The goal is to provide a new hybrid approach to dialogue management which combines rich linguistic knowledge (pragmatic rules, dialogue structure) with statistical models and planning under uncertainty into a single, unified framework.

If you're interested in my research and would like to know more, feel free to drop me an email!

  News:

[8/05/2012] My paper on "Probabilistic Dialogue Models with Prior Domain Knowledge" (see publications page) has been accepted as a full talk to SIGDIAL 2012, which is going to take place on July 5-6 in Seoul, South Korea!
[3/05/2012] If you are a young researcher working in the field of spoken dialogue systems, please consider participating to the Young Researchers' Roundtable on Spoken Dialogue Systems, which is organised just before SIGDial.
[25/04/2012] The proceedings of the EACL Student Research Workshop 2012 (which I have had the pleasure of co-chairing along with Mattias Nilsson and Marta Recasens) are now fully available online in the ACL anthology.
