Ostad Professor, dr.philos, dr.scient Curriculum Vitae Snorre A. Ostad has degree examination for teachers from a teacher’s training college. Moreover, he is candidatus magisterii, candidatus paedagogiae, and has two doctor degrees (i.e., Doctor Philosophiae and Doctor Scientiarum) from the University of Oslo. Ostad has been working as teacher in primary schools, in special schools, and in teacher’s training college. His main job is currently professor at the University of Oslo, where he teaches both undergraduate and graduate students. Research Interests His publications document the obvious interest in applying research in mathematical cognition to issues in mathematics education. To this end, his research include mathematically normal children, children with difficulties in mathematics, blind children as well as deaf children. Currently, he works primarily on developmental characteristics of private (subvocal) speech among mathematically normal and mathematically disabled children.
