Current (and past) research I currently conduct research focusing, firstly, on methodological and empirical issues related to learning at work. More precisely, the research has recently been in the form of investigating the relationship between factors exogenous and endogeous to the work situation itself when it comes to learning in connection with career transitions. Previously (and continuously) I am also interested in theoretical traditions which focus on institutions and institutionalization processes. Within such a contest I am pursuing studies of product innovations, focusing on the case of biotechnology in Norway and Japan. From previous years I am in addition interested in studying varying organizational solutions for developing incremental process innovations, with a special focus on team-based organization in the automobile industry.
