Research projects at Ifi:
Strategic Research Initative for Security and Robustness in Networked Systems.
A middleware platform for adaptive and dependable data dissemination in the Internet of Systems.
Canada-Norway partnership program in higher education.
Virtually Enhanced Real-life Synchronized Interaction - on the Edge.
Here are some past research projects I have been involved in:
Spidercast: An infrastructure for scalable event dissemination
in large-scale dynamic pub/sub systems.
A group communication toolkit that made significant
WebSphere Application Server release 6.0 and WebSphere Extended Deployment
(XD) 5.1 introduce DCS as part of their high availability architecture.
Middleware for cooperative mobile applications.
Monitoring and indexing distributed data streams.
A caching service for distributed CORBA objects. This was my main PhD project, which resulted
in eight journal and conference publications. As part of the evaluation, the software was
deployed over the wide Internet with nodes in North America, South America, Europe, Middle
and Far East, and Australia. This was a significant feat in the pre-Planetlab times.
The system is studied in the ``Distributed Systems: Principles and Paradigms'' textbook
by Maarten van Steen and Andrew S. Tanenbaum.
Symphony: An infrastructure for managing virtual servers.
FT CORBA: I participated in the design and implementation of
the Fault-Tolerance CORBA standard at INRIA (in collaboration with Alcatel).
A group communication system for partitionable networks.
